Abraham purchases the Cave of Machpelah in Hebron

Following Sarah’s death at Kiriath-arba (Hebron), Abraham bows before the Hittites and weighs out four hundred shekels of silver to Ephron son of Zohar to purchase the field and cave of Machpelah as a permanent family tomb.
