The fall of Jerusalem and deportation of Judah to Babylon

After an eighteen-month siege, Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian army breaches Jerusalem, burns the Temple of Solomon and royal palaces, captures King Zedekiah at Jericho, blinds him at Riblah, and marches the people into exile in Babylon.
