Moses erects the bronze serpent for healing in the wilderness

When the people grew impatient along the way around Edom and spoke against God and Moses, fiery serpents bit many; upon Israel’s confession, Moses made a bronze serpent and set it upon a pole so that whoever looked upon it lived.
