Abimelech destroys Shechem and meets his end at Thebez

After massacring his seventy brothers to reign over Shechem, Abimelech crushed a rebellion by razing Shechem and sowing it with salt, but was struck down at Thebez when a woman dropped an upper millstone on his head.
