Genesis 6:9 to 6:22 Noah trusted and obeyed God even when no one else did. Learn that Noah walked faithfully with God in a difficult world. Many years after Adam and Eve, people forgot about God and hurt one another. But one man named Noah loved God with all his heart. Noah Walked with God As the world grew, people stopped listening to God. They fought and treated each other unfairly. But Noah was different. Noah loved God, listened to God's voice, and walked with God every day like a true friend. A Giant Boat on Dry Land God told Noah: "A great flood is coming, but I will keep you and your family safe. Build a huge ark out of gopher wood." Noah did not live near the sea, and there was no water in sight! But Noah trusted God. Thump, thump, thump went the hammers as Noah, his sons, and his family built the giant boat exactly as God commanded. Faithful Obedience People probably laughed and pointed fingers at Noah building a boat on dry ground. But Noah did not stop. Genesis tells us: "Noah did everything just as God commanded him." Noah's faith was strong because he trusted God's promise. Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him. Genesis 6:22 What kind of man was Noah? A faithful man who walked with God A king who built golden castles A fisherman who liked boats A man who ignored God A faithful man who walked with God Genesis 6:9 tells us that Noah was a righteous man who walked faithfully with God. What did God tell Noah to build to keep his family safe? A giant wooden ark A stone tower A brick castle A small tent A giant wooden ark God instructed Noah to build an ark of gopher wood to rescue his family. What did Noah do when God gave him instructions? He did everything God commanded He gave up and quit He argued with God He asked someone else to do it He did everything God commanded Noah trusted God completely and obeyed all of God's instructions. Choose to do what is right this week even if others are not doing it: speak kindly, obey your parents quickly, and pray faithfully. Dear God, thank you for Noah's example of faith. When other people don't listen to you, give me courage to do what is right. Help me to trust your voice and obey your commands. In Jesus' name, Amen.
